I'm trying to change a leaking oil seal on a Viking 6HP from 1968. Removed the prop shaft bar, impeller and the drive bar. No after removing the prop I removed a lock ring and slid off the guard. Then removed the lock ring. Now I'm stuck, I assumed after all of that was out it should just pull out. I see though 2 holes that are tapped in the photos, there were no screws there. But I'm wondering if that was for some kind of removal tool. Like it would screw in then you give it a turn left to unlock. Also not sure what all that hardened grease is, barely comes off with a screw driver. Anyone have any thoughts on the last step? And also should I get some goof off and try to remove that hardened grease?
