Force 125 powerhead

I have a Force 125 that needs a rebuild. I see several powerheads on ebay that would be cheaper than a rebuild. Does anybody know what year powerheads are interchangable? I have an 1989 model number 1254x9B. I see several mid 80's on ebay but no 1989's. Thanks!

I would say, any 86~88 125 HP powerhead will be a perfect replacement for your 89 to match your lower unit. This is based on the matchability of the spacer plate/gasket between the power head and the mid-leg.

The blocks from 79 to 94 should probably work.
Figure out the year of the block and see what cylinder exhaust gasket fits.

The newer blocks have different connectors for the shift cable.

Post the year of the block.
A 120/90/85 should work.
