I will note that the pics above that show the exhaust ports show cracks just as my 70hp had.

Hi atengnr,

I remember reading that in your post. I'm curious to what that would have caused? maybe it is caused by over-detonation or just a bad cast

Yeah i dont know if this is occuring just in failed cylinders or even in cylinders with normal wear. Id have to suspect a design issue since i checked 2 blocks that I had and both had cracks in the ports. But dunno.

From wat I understand?? the timing being off or using premium fuel and running too hot could contribute to the cracks

Yup, it has cracks in the next one over where the piston is not damaged.
logic would dictate the piston is not (necessarily) the cause

Should be no issue finding that in the GTA area.------No problem for me to find either one !!
