So we are getting snow today so I had to winterize the boat last night. Everything was seeming to be going fine, There is about a gallon of gas in the tank with some seafoam and fuel stabilizer in it. I start up and it idles very high over 5000 when on the water 4000 at WOT.

I turn the kjey off, pull the key, and flip the kill switch. IT IS STILL RUNNING!

I have to pull the fuel hose to get it to stop.

I try to start and it wont start again, realize the kill switch is active, so I flip it and it starts right up. Quickly turn the key and it dies. Try this a few times as I fog the engine and every time I turn the key off the engine shuts off as normally.

Does anyone have any ideas what this could be?

Check your ground connections. Guessing there is some corrosion at the main ground point because both key and kill had no effect at first

Don't start it if it runs at wot or you'll be picking up bits of blown outboard for a week or out of the next door neighbours kid,

Spray some WD-40 in the key switch.
Unhook the battery.
Turn it on and off and spray again.
Repeat 3-4 times.

That sounds to me like it was dieseling which generally means a vacuum leak somewhere. Check your seals.
