Hey, Guys,

Just bought a force 1991 90 hp from a local boat re builder, control, cable & trim included.
It comes off from a pontoon-boat, which means fresh water only. He said he test it before and it run flawlessly. I doubt it because the wiring to the key is all wrong, the spark coil is wrong-connected. Maybe he started it in his short cut way.

I re-wire it and test the sparking and compression. very strong spark and compression. trim works good too. But right now I don't have the instruction for the shift and throttle linkage.

Can anyone share an instruction to do that? besides, can the force cable works with existing Mercury top mounted control box?

I have spent quite a lot time on my 1977 mercury inline 1150 so pretty much learned on outboard 2 stroke. Someone said force before 1992 is quality controlled and I hope so.

The 91/90 hp won't work with a Mercury shifter.
If the key is a Mercury setup? then he probably rewired it to work.

If it was on a pontoon and had the right prop for the toon?
Then the prop will probably be wrong for a V hull configuration.
Post the size of the prop.

The Forces are a good dependable motor, just a little harder on fuel
compared to the newer motors.
