Thank you Jerry and Nordin, I really appreciate all of your help!

1. To reconfirm, if I want to make this "as easy as possible", I need a replacement Chrysler/Force with a 20" shaft before 1986, correct? (screw down clamps)

2. If I got the bolt through clamps, I could use any Chrysler/Force up to 1993, correct?

The most important thing for me is doing the swap the easiest way possible. I would like to be able to use all the same controls, cables, wiring, trim/tilt, etc. if at all possible.

Please confirm, after hearing back from you I will begin my search for a replacement OB

Any thing from 75-92 should be ok.
In 82/3 they started using the Prestolite Ignition .
Way better than the older stuff.
In 92 Mercury bought out US Marine
They started using some of their parts.
Then in 94 they went to all Mercury with the Force block.

The shift/fuel cable connectors can be changed on the later models by using the stuff from
your old motor.
