Hi everyone…I need some help/guidance…am hoping someone knows how to put a Mercury Quicksilver shift handle back together.

Some parts “fell out” as I working a shift handle…and now I do not fully understand how the shift throttle rod and pin are placed in the shift handle. The schematic I have found give me a general idea…but does not show how it is connected or pushed on when using the spring trigger control.

Are any of you able to provide a better schematic, or provide some instructions that a novice can follow?

The photo's below show what I am working with. I am assuming the spring loaded trigger pushes on the rod, which then raises the pin, allowing the user to move the shift handle forward or backward.

But...have no clue on where the rod is placed in the spring loaded trigger assemble.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

After a few hours of searching...I finally found a schematic that should help me put this thing back together correctly! (circle "B" shows how to place the rod at the top of the shifter handle.

The flat part of the rod (bottom) pulls the pin out by sliding into the slot. The top bend goes in on the release lever side of the top. I added some photos. Let me know if you need more.
