New control on 1978 Johnson with trim/tilt

I'm in the process of restoring a 16' Alumacraft Lunker with a 1978 Johnson 70hp. It has the old style controls, and dash mounted trim/tilt, no safety kill switch, etc. I'm thinking of getting new controls and cables and was looking at this Mophorn 5006180 on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Mophorn-Contr...128258&sr=8-15

This says it needs an "adapter" to use on 1973 to 1995 motors. Is this the adapter they are referencing: https://leadersrpmshop.com/johnson-e...768411-768411/ ??

Does anyone have experience with this control or adapter? The trim / tilt unit has a control box that is externally mounted.

I guess it depends on your location.-----There are much cheaper ways to do this.-----Some dealers have used controls laying around.
