I have a 1978 Johnson outboard on back of my 30' houseboat. Since I bought the boat I have had issues with the control center operating properly. I can adjust it correctly to go forward yet reverse has 0 throttle. So I assumed the control cables must be worn. I found a NOS set of OMC cables for this boat. I purchased and downloaded a OMC shop manual. The manual describes how to adjust the throttle but does not describe how to adjust the gear shifting cable. I have attached the section out of the manual for this motor and do not see it. Am I missing something??????? I'm just looking for a down and dirty to the point explanation of how to do this.
