no neutral?

My mercruiser wants to go from forward to reverse. Use of red shift button? Adjustment? Auto shut off? Rarely goes into neutral.

is it an issue where you cant get it out of gear? if so, your lower shift cable and associated shift interupt switch are the issue

is it an issue where you go straight from forward to reverse? if so, it may be your controls, or adjustment at the cable

yes it will go from fwd to reverse and back but rarely goes to neutral. Thanks

If I turn key off and on quickly it works. Mercruiser #8 shows interupt switch but that all. How to troubleshoot, wire color. switch location, access?
