US Marine Shifter

1989 2655 Ciera 5.7 OMC having issues with a stiff shifter. It is the original US Marine model with built-in trim switch, anybody have any success lubricating them or do you just replace it? If so anyone know the model number or what to look for

I had a US Marine shifter on a 92 Bayliner 2452 with a 5.7 and an Alpha 1 gen 2, it got quite stiff, I tried unsucsessfuly to lube it ,nothing I did seemed to help. It was still stiff with the cables unhooked Then I sold the boat. New owner didn't seem to care
