Good morning all, I have a 1976 Mirrocraft console boat with a 1976 25hp Evinrude engine. I have been cleaning up, upgrading and painting the boat over the last year, all while enjoying it out on the water. It still has the original shift/throttle box mounted on the side of the hull at the steering wheel. My only issue is now that I have repainted the inside of the boat, the box is old, and corroded and does not really look all that good. Is there a way to swap it out with a newer model side mount control box with no real issue? I understand the cables would have to be replaced as well, but is that the only other problem there is with making this switch? Thanks for your time. I figured there will have been someone who has done this and can point me in the right direction. Have a great Thursday all.

I just took mine apart, sand blasted and painted. Ordered a new decal off Ebay. Lubed and reassembled.
