blue cap. black tube.

seastar solutions SafeT QC mechanical steering on my g3 1756 cc 70 yamaha. i found the little blue cap on my deck, it had oil spill out of it. located black tube under console that came off steering box. reinstalled and taped on. what is the tubes purpose? should i b checking something? thank you

If it's the one in the pic, that comes off the black guide tube off the steering box, it's just a dust cap. The cable is greased from factory. Should be no problem.
