West bend 18hp Elgin 1959

Hi I'm wondering if its possible to hook up a set of remote controls on a 1959 Elgin made by West bend, would a pair from a chrysler work?

Ayuh,..... Probably not,.... Are there any control attachment points on the motor,..??

Post some pictures,.... a '59 Elgin ain't all that common,....

Ayuh,..... Ya gotta look under the hood for control attachment points,.....

But, like I said, I'm doubtin' yer gonna find any,.... To old, 'n to smalla horsepower,....

Yep ^^^ for throttle and F-N-R control is probably on the other side of the motor from the 1 pix you posted.

It does look like there is a bump and a hole in the center of the hoop carry handle above the transom clamps. That is probably for attachment to remote helm steering. Doesnt look like its the same as vintage OMC so not sure what its steering bracket/pulley setup looks like.

Here is a front view. It looks like it has an entry hole for throttle controls or something.
