So I have managed to get my simrad nss 7 evo 2 talking to my standard horizon gx2200 matrix ais + gps vhf radio and also to my mercury mercmonitor level 0.
I did this by setting my gx2200 to 4800 bps nmea 0183 and connected grey (+) and brown (-) to the mercmonitor white (+) and blue (-). The mercmonitor reads off the GPS correctly with the standard horizon set to transmit all GPS NMEA out and mercmonitor set to speed by GPS. I also connected the GX2200 AIS yellow (+) and white (-) to the nss 7 evo 2 green (+) and orange (-).
I had to set the simrad to 38.4K as the GX2200 yellow and white are NMEA 0183 HS.
Now everything works correctly BUT I dont get DSC messages on the simrad nss 7 evo 2. I only get AIS targets. To get DSC i need to connect grey and brown to the simrad green and orange but that would kill my GPS output to the mercmonitor. And i cant use the simrad as the GPS talker as it would be set to 38.4K when the mercmonitor needs 4800.

Questions - Is there any way to set the NSS 7 Evo 2 to transmit GPS messages at 4800bps and receive at 38.4 K ?
Alternatively is there any way to wire this setup so i can get DSC messages on the simrad unit without buying additional hardware which i have no space/power for anyway ?

I don't believe it's possible using the NMEA 0183 protocol.

You don't have NMEA 2000 or a second NMEA 183 connection on that machine?
