Hello, I am trying to remove a Mayfair Proline 750 bilge pump from a very hard to reach area. I have looked them up online and it boasts of a quick release bracket. Due to its location, I cannot see any such mechanism and cannot get it to come loose. It appears to be able to twist but I cannot find any kind of trigger lock or release lever. Anyone able to shed any light?

Re: Mayfair Bilge Pump

One of my pumps is a Proline 1000 and I just replaced it last year, all I did was give it a good sharp twist counter clockwise (I think) and lift it up, I used the existing base to attach the new pump to instead of going through the hassle of sealing the new one.

Ok, wasn't sure and didn't want to get too crazy and have to replace the whole unit either.
Thanks!

Yup that worked. It ended up being "reverse threaded" so a clockwise turn brought it off.
