convert power drive to auto pilot?

Hello,<br /><br />I was just wondering if it is possible to convert a Minn Kota 50 lb thrust power drive (4 years old) to autopilot. I have an older 28 lb thrust Minn Kota auto pilot that came with a boat I bought. The gears are worn out, I was just thinking that the head might fit on my newer power drive motor, add an on/off switch and presto! Any ideas if this would work? I don't want to ruin my newer motor. Just call Minn-Kota tech support on 800-227-6433 and give them the model number so they can i.d. the control head. They'll tell you.<br /><br />The auto pilot is supposed to work with "select" Powerdrive and Riptide motors.
