I recently found brand new hummingbird legend 1000 fish finder for only 110. dollars seems like a nice fish finder for the money. Also has speed and temp sensors. For another $70 i can get a eagle 240 with same features. I only have 700 in boat motor and trailer and the extra $70 can buy a decent amount of tackle. Which should i buy?

It seems that many don't care for the Hummingbirds, but I've had my current one for 3 years without a single problem. This is the second one I've had(Updated)and neither were bad. Just my experience! For $110.00 I would have to go for it!

Myself I had nothing but trouble with them. Read some of the posts about them. Sure 70. bucks can buy alot of tackle.....but you will need the money when you throw that toy in the drink. Buy the best one you can the first time.....then sit back and enjoy yourself fishing

I've only had a little experience with Humminbirds, Mike, but all of it was bad. :(

On the other hand, all of my experience with Lowrance/Eagle sonars has been good. :)

If it does turn out being crap i would never consider throwing any trash in our wonderful waterways. I did purchase it got last one so 3 other people must have thought it was a good deal. Cabela's is selling the legend1000 for $259.
