Marine Radio....NO Sound?

I have a marine radio that powers up fine....all of the buttons work, however there is no sound?

I don't think it?s the antenna because I would still get static....right?
I thought a wire came off the speaker but I opened it up and it looked fine.

Any ideas?

I'd check first to see if a "mute" button was involved-
Then try a "known to be working" speaker

Ditto what boss hawg said, also you can turn your squelch button all the way down (counter clockwise) and see if you get loud static. Sounds like a bad speaker to me. Find another boater near you and see if you can transmit. He should be able to hear you if your radio works.
