Electric Outboard

I currently have a long paddle to my mooring in a tidal estuary. So I'm considering an outboard. Given that I would have to lift it from a small Avon inflatable onto my Predator 165, I was wondering whether the electric outboards like Flover etc. are any good. It could be having to push against the tide and wind. Basically are the up to the job?

Thanks

Re: Electric Outboard

The electric plus the battery(ies) would probably weigh as much as the outboard. Go with the small outboard.

x2 Silvertip. A 2-3 HP gas outboard will give you better results and weigh less than the battery alone. ( older 2 hp OMC's start @ 24#!) You can find a good used one for $200-350. BTW< Most in that size have a self contained fuel tank which is all you'll need for several hours of running.
