How can I hook up Garmin for Indoor Use.

I own a GPSMAP 440s and I recently purchased the power cable (Part No. 010-10918-00).

I would like to power the unit in my home much in the same way as the units are powered on in the Retail stores.

Can anone tell me how to do?

Find out how much current it draws and then go to radio shack and tell them you want a 12v power supply like you might use on a cell phone that produces x amount of current. You can cut off the connector and splice the wires to the hot leads on the Garmin and you're ready to go. Heck I bet you have one laying around the house somewhere.
