need help with my Motorguide lost 2 speeds

Hey everyone, I?m having a little trouble with my motorguide pro series 70. I can only get the last 3 speeds 3, 4 and 5. First two speeds and will not work when you push the button on the foot pedal or when you turn the red switch on when at the first and second speed. I don?t know where to look and what to try. The motor is still under warranty but I live 3 hours away from the closes motorguide repair shop and would like to see if there is anything I could do before I have to drive all that way.
