Boat engine cutting off

I have a mercruiser 4.3 cuts out. It will restart only to cut out again sometimes runs for for 10 minutes but cuts back out. I had to start it about 50 times to get back in last time. Any ideas? Maybe a oil pressure switch.

it would help if we knew what year you were dealing with, what fuel system, and what ignition system.

the 4.3 has been around with 7 different block designs, 8 different fuel systems and 5 different ignition systems over the past 36 years
