Hello, I have an old 1960s boat I'm trying to restore, but have an issue with the ignition switch not matching the newer ones.
the boat had a 5 position switch, and a separate choke switch, which matches the 1970 Johnson 33hp outboard I've picked up, but everything I'm finding is 3 pole, or 6 pole with push to choke.
I'm sure this is simple, and im probably over thinking it, but how do I wire up one of the newer options to allow me to keep the original choke switch off to the side, separate from the key switch?
the wiring diagram shows M, Batt, M, S, and A, with A going to the choke now. Is there an accessory position on a newer switch I would use for that function? If so, how do I turn off the choke with the key still on?
I really appreciate the help if anyone has some advice!
