I've heard the boat CAN communication is a modified J1939 network. I work with J1939 and maybe wouldn't mind programming a custom j1939 computer for the boat if it's practical. What's another grand when dealing with a boat, right?

does anyone know more about the Nmea2000 standards? Is the a parameter list out there I could download?
anyone know any of the n mean specifics when suzuki does it? 250kbs I assume?

Good luck....too many years and head aches (Project Manager, industrial automation) trying to adapt one application layer / protocol to another.

not sure about Suzuki, but on larger engines (Mann and Cat) you can get an adapter to connect the 2 and use a laptop to set up the instances. I have set it up before, would think it would be the same, but not sure
