I want to connect this radio directly to the battery. Power connections says:

red = ignition+

yellow = battery 12+

Black = chassis ground

dark blue - remote turn on

I ran the yellow wire to my battery +, black to my battery -, fuse is good....

nothing....

do I need to run both red & yellow to battery+ ?

thx

Both red and yellow to the battery. Red is the power in to the radio and yellow is the "keep alive" for presets.

Exactly as GA stated, but be warned...that yellow wire, which keeps your presets and clock, will constantly draw from your battery. If left for too long, it will drain your battery down. Ask me how I know...:disturbed:

Best to add a kill switch (for the radio) in a convenient location and forget about keeping your presets and clock.

Just added yellow wire to buss bar + side, works perfect and is controlled by kill switch! thanks to all!
