I've got a fairly simple 5.2m fibreglass runabout fitted with a 2002 Mercury 115HP Salt Water series outboard (four cylinder, quad carby, oil injection, 2 stroke) outboard motor. Aside from the motor, there's very little in the way of electronics on it - an old fish finder and a radio for emergencies. Starting the motor would be the main electronic activity. Any advise on what size battery would be suitable for the setup? Something around 450 CCA?

I have usually run just a Series 24 Marine Battery, 6 sumthing Marine Cranking Amp. But I did go a few years with a 575 CCA car battery without any problems.

Vibration and jostling is the main concern and why a Marine Battery is recommended.

That was on a 130 V4 Carb Yamaha
