recently purchased a 1990 sea nymph ss195 with a non running 1975 mercury 850 motor. there is a start/stop switch on the dashboard, and a start/stop switch on the motor control. the switch on the control will light up the dash, but the dashboard switch doesn't light up anything Under the dash is a nightmare, wires everywhere, some hooked up, some hanging, don't know what goes where, is there a print, or diagram that explains what's what under the dash, or do I just chase wires? thanks.

Its not in original condition, so a diagram ( there isn't one ) would be of no use.

Start chasing and labeling.
Plan on a rewiring project.

Switch on dash was probably from original motor set up.

the 1975 motor uses a completely different set of controls with switch in the controls.

There is no "logical" reason to have two ignition switches. Make things work with one.
