hey guys just acquired this 1989 Larson 215 cruiser. I am trying to figure out the wiring for the freshwater pump. I know it just takes 12 v and a ground to make it run but trying to trace original wiring. I found that the switch above the faucet was bad so jumped it and now have 10 v to pump but weak current. still no ground. does anybody know where the power and ground come from. im guessing behind dash.

your guess is most likely correct. check the ground buss.

your best bet is to contact Larson, however dont hold your breath on a 30 year old boat and finding a wiring diagram. many times they did not exist.

Ground comes from the negative terminal of the battery with the potential for many points of failure between the pump itself and the battery. Clean the terminals. 12 volts also originates at the battery and generally goes to the fuse or breaker panel then to the switches and then to the accessories (the pump in your case. Again, check the path and clean connections. Looking is not cleaning.
