Ground the water separator?

Haven't seen it mentioned anywhere and am wondering if i should run a ground to the fuel water separator ? If i'm grounding all metal that touches fuel i assume i should ground that too.

I've never seen it mentioned either. I've owned 4 boats. Have never had a fuel-water separator that was separately grounded. Not necessary.

The simple answer is no.

The purpose of grounding a metal fuel tank is to drain any potential (static) built up during the refueling process.

Gas alone is a poor conductor of electricity. Grounding elsewhere is futile
