I have 2 GPS/Fish finders on my boat. One is set on sonar and the other on charts.
I installed a new switch panel over the winter. Both GPS’s will not turn on until battery is turned on and the GPS power switch in my panel is switched on.
After GPS power switch is on one of the units powers up automaticity while I have to manually power on the other. This is not a big deal as I think I have to adjust the settings.
The issue I’m having and which is annoying is that if I turn engine off both units stay powered on but when I restart they both power down and I have to power them back on. This is annoying as it takes a few minutes to power up which leaves me blind during that time. I don’t like this especially with my chart unit.
Is this normal or is there a way to not have the units power down when I restart.
I have 2 batteries, start and house
I also have a battery charging system installed for when I’m docked.
I have a Perko battery switch installed as well.
Not sure if more ore info is needed.
Best,
MM
