Hello,
My fuse block at the helm is fed from the ignition side of the ammeter. My Sonar ( raymarine dragonfly pro7) will shut down when ignition switch is put to the start (draw) position.
Can I put a fuse block from the battery side of the ammeter to run the sonar ? Will this make a difference when starting ? I do have a full disconnect at the battery.
Would there be any other concerns?
Thanks, Jim

The unit is shutting down from a under voltage condition.

Either the battery is on the way out (Have it load tested to confirm condition) or the wiring from the battery to the ammeter, to the fuse panel then back out to your sounder is has a bad connection, is undersized, corroded or all of the above.

The power for a fuse panel should run directly from the battery to the fuse panel using appropriate sized conductors.

Anything less is cutting corners. Problems should be exspected.

and no...moving your power feed from one side of a gauge to the other will not solve your problem
