can a stator fail only when warm?

is it possible for a coil in the stator to separate when warm and cause failure. if so it wouldn't show up on a bench test

When I used to repair military electronics in the pre-digital age, one of our tools was a high wattage hair dryer to heat components while testing.

The same can be done if you suspect a heat related stator failure.
