40 hp Mercury Stator replacement

I have a 1994 Mercury 40 hp electric start 4cyl 2 stroke with a bad stator. The original part number is 398-818535a17 I believe. The replacement part number was listed at Sierra 18-5870. My original stator has six wires but the replacement only has for. The originals are
yellow

red
red white
blue
blie white

the replacement is

yellow
yellow
green
white

how do I connect these wires?
