1985 Mariner 40C questions

Long time lurker with some questions about a 1985 Mariner 40hp I finally found. It's a remote I wanna turn into a tiller. Got the tiller parts which look pretty straightforward but the wiring not so much. It has a 7-wire cable I need to route to a new start button and a kill switch. I have Seloc manual 1400 but I don't see much in the way of a wiring diagram and it doesn't cover anything tiller related. I'm thinking of doing the tiller and then taking it to a tech to do the wiring if I can't figure it out myself. The only techs around here are 30 miles away. A couple of pics.
