I recently purchased a boat that had no key. I have been trying to replace my ignition switch. I cannot figure out how to replace the wires. On the new switch. It is not the same as the old one I'm including the pictures of both. The new one has an I and the old one had an A wire. When I initially hooked it back up to what I thought was the right diagram the choke worked but nothing else. Now nothing works. I had the two m,s in the right place and the battery B wire correctly placed. I don't see a yellow wire. I have two purple wires, one solid and the other striped.

The two switches are the same except that the A terminal is marked I. If you moved the remaining wires to there respective terminals and the A wire to the I terminal it should work. If it doesn't you need to start diagnosing. Starting with 12V at the B terminal and working out.
