What's THIS thing?

The part with the 4 holes in it. It is hanging from wires under the dash panel. It's on a 1996 17 ft Lowe of indeterminate model. It looks like an alarm buzzer of some sort. Motor is a 50 hp Johnson. Also a 96. Do they have a water temp alarm or something? The wire harness is an upcoming project next week.

Any wires going to it? If so, what color are they and where does it go? Is there a matching plug with 4 pins? Almost looks like a connector.

OBTW, get rid of that wire nut and put a good heatshrink crimp connector there. Your wire is probably corroding.

Just bought the boat. None of the accessories work. Bilge pump works and the motor runs, the important stuff. Wire nuts and butt splices all over. Thats why I say the wiring harness is an upcoming project. It is hanging by wires. I'll try to get a better pic tomorrow.

cptmarvel, never mind. Found it, it is the alarm for the engine. Look here in iboats in the johnson engine parts for you motor and you will a line drawing. Also you can see a photo in ebay.
