Been using epoxy over 50 years - don't think I ever want to use poly resin. Thankfully it hasn't effected me in anyway I'm aware of.

I guess i am just the exact opposite of old lol i have used poly exclusivly lol but if i was working with a wood boat id prob, bite bullet and use epoxy.

Hey zool you're making some real nice progress. How have you liked working with the Glen-L plans? Did yours come with full size patterns? I just ordered me a set of plans for a little bit bigger boat than what I have now. Based on how they describe them they sound real nice. Have they been easy to follow and also have they made it easy to cut the frame parts?

Just wondering how the Imperial is doing? Like you don't have enough going on. Just asking.

Sounds like ur walking on egg shells asking that question lol...Shes ok in her cocoon, I left off with the decks going back in, but one of the cleats failed, so the forward deck has to come back out...I uncovered it last week to air it out, let the rain wash out the hull bottom....gonna cover it back up, prolly wont be getting to it again til next year.

Thanks Pek, No complaints with the GL plans, pretty straight forward and easy, at least for the skiff. They call them full size, but they are 1/2 from the center line to the gunnel, you just invert them for the other side and to make a full size pattern.

The frames on mine were sacrificial, or u have the option of leaving them in.....

If u dont mind me asking, which model did u choose for ur next build?

Ok great. That's kinda what I gathered from reading their descriptions of them. I have been looking at the Par-Tay boat as they call it for a while now. I'm pondering the 20' 6" version. I measured the garage and it will be real tight so not sure I'll pull it off. Of course our little Squirt (the 13' 9" PM38) will have to move outside before I can do anything because she sits in that spot. Not sure when I'll start though. Could be a while.

The cam follower for the OB came in..so I threw that in today to see if it solved the idle problem......and it did...starts on 1-2 pulls, and idles without effort now.....the lever wouldnt go into reverse, but after I greased the zirk fittings, all was well

So I decided to clean up the lower and prime it for paint.

You might also want to check out Spira international. Jeff Spira has a lot of easy to build designs.
Cheers
