Pontoon- Converting manual steer to console steer

I just bought a very cheap used Sea Ryder 15' electric pontoon boat for the community lake that I live on. Only electric motors are allowed. The boat is in pretty good shape but, it has a small worn out electric motor that is steered by hand. Since I will be buying a new motor anyway, I would like to convert it to the more modern style that is steered with a steering wheel mounted on a console. Any idea how I should go about this? I know a place that sells the console. I need to know where (on line or off) to find the steering controls for an electric motor and electric motor to connect with it to make this conversion. Thanks.

I don't know about remote steering for a electric motor but you might want to check this out. trolling motor They have a 18' cable you can use anywhere on the pontoon and come in different sizes to meet your needs.<br />Cost of new motor, console, etc. might be better to go this route. Won't tie up any space for console either.
