My husband and I are in the process of restoring what we believe to be and 1983 MFG Gypsy 15' Tri-hull. We are debating on returning her to original or modernizing her. This is the first boat we have ever owned and would appreciate any advice anyone has to offer.

I mean this in the nicest, non-offensive way possible....... it's a dated looking tri-hull that will have a very low maximum resale even in showroom condition so do what you want with it!!! :D

With the bluntness out of the way, that boat looks very nice for the year and should be a great first boat for you. Good luck with it and welcome to iboats.

Thanks and no offense taken. I really need the bluntness to make the right decision.
That said, let the re-do proceed.

Your first oder of business is the engine. Check it out really good to make sure it's running top notch. You don't want to sink money into a boat and then find out you need major engine repairs too.

Good luck...and we're here for whatever comes your way (boat wise that is)
