Have not started to tear out so of course we don;t know, but typically, when you pull the deck/floor and found the stringers are turned to mush, is there usually some good stringers to double up to under the closed bow section where the water usually doesn;t get?

If they are rotted out clear up that far, can they be accessed without pulling the top of the boat apart (cap)?

typicaly they arent bad under the bow.

however......for the time it takes to get the cap off....and to have all the room to work without sticking your head under the bow and grinding till you cant see....its worth it

Mine had moisture front to back and rot to some extent the whole length. Remember wood wicks moisture so on a continuous stringer it will pull it to the front.

Would it be possible then to use a doubler and bolt into the existing stringer if it is a little soft? Boat is not nice and I just need to be safe. Not looking to restore it, or sell for a profit. Or course without seeing it, just speculating.
