I've got a small hole 1.5 X 2.0 inches on the hull of my fiberglass 1966 Shell Lake. Is a Marine Fiberglass repair Kit by Evercoat sufficiant? I can't get to the other side of the hole. What sould I use to fill it? Photo's attached..

Thanks Wingnutal

Hey hey here :) You know a lot of us have families ( camping in the warm summer ) and work and other personal things going on .. give it a little more then 25 hrs before you chide us lol ;) ..

Can you give an over all pic of the boat please ..

You have Stress cracks running down from your pics..

WHAT HAPPENED to make your HOLE ? ..

Why cant you get to the Inside ( looks like a basic Thin racing boat or a Canoe ..cant tell from the up closers sorry .. ) ?

YD.

and for most of those 25 hours this thread was in the general boat topics section which is NOT where the glass experts hang out.

i agree with YD....

that looks like sharp impact damage.

once you grind off the gell.....or that looks like paint.....i think you will find the fiberglass is cracked.
a simple kit wont do that one.

you cant just fill the hole.....you will need an inside out repair or at least open her up and put in a backing plate.

then the galss can be repaired form the out side.

a hole in fiberglass is most basically attacked the same way.....big or small hole, it doesnt matter.

check iut the link in my sig for fiberglass repair info.....lol.....the boat in my sig had a rather big hole cut in it.....lol
