I bet she will look nice when you get that coat of primer on. I was imagining mine with paint on it tonight...hehehe.

Hello, No I used a brush so I could get the rivets better. the paint is a two part ZC fuel tank primer we use at work to paint the inside of A/C fuel tanks. it is tough stuff and when dry it is resistant to just about everything and very flexable.

Aw man I was thinking about leaving it that color LOL. my wife had another name for the color she called it baby ship green. the best part about this paint is it seals also so its like ZC gluvit:D.

Hello all, I have been reading the painting threads and did not find an answer. should I sand or scuff the ZC primer before I paint or just check to see if there is any bad spots and do the final paint.

V8, I don't think we used the same type of ZC but all I did was wipe the boat down with a cloth towel. It was rough enough to remove the 'dust' and not remove any primer. It was then smooth, so it will be painted over.

Your right FS my ZC is not pure ZC its a kinda hybrid and very smooth. I think I will go over it lightly with some scotchbrite just to be sure. I think I will do a test spot first to see how it works.

Wow V8, is that the primer coat or the paint? It looks too shiny to be primer. So you are multitasking huh? You going to have the trailer AND the boat done by next weekend? Where do you find time to eat?:D

Thanks for the kind words guys. I call it primer but its really POR-15 paint but you have to put a top coat on it because its not UV resistant. the top coat is also POR paint but its called flex coat and was made for marine applications mainly salt water and comes in many colors. I am going to paint my hull bright white and the top will be a royal or lighter blue.
