Ok time for a long overdue update. Wiring has been repaired and replaced. Still do not understand why anyone would put multiple splices in a wire. New steering wheel and cable installed. Outdrive Installed. Throttle and Shift controll cleaned and lubed. Side panels Installed. New Wise seats and seat bases installed. Carpet installed. Made it so I could pull it up and out.

Still have alot of little things to do yet. But starting to see light at the end of the tunnel :)

Thanks for stopping by my thread! Your interior looks awesome! You really can't beat these Wise seats for looks and value.

Are those the white and blue? That's the color scheme I wanted to get but the supplier I was going through didn't have those in stock and I was itching to start getting the interior back together, so I just went with the sand color because it matches the preexisting color scheme and the old seats. Too bad. I really like your color combination.

How did you make the carpet so you can pull it out? Did you use velcro or something to hold it in place?

Hopefully I won't be too far behind you on my interior. I've been kind of preoccupied with the darned outdrive.

Thanks Nick. Those seats are the Gray and Navy.
Right now the carpet is just cut to fit nice and tight. I might ad some snaps later to the front bulkhead. I will see how it does. I plan on adding some non skid between the seats.

Re: 1978 Bayliner Quartermaster restoration

Ok so I ran the engine today for the first time in the boat with the outdrive attached. I chose not to hook the tank in the boat up until this first run. No sense in having fuel sit in the tank if I'd had other issues. So here it is. Feel free to comment. Hope this works as it is my first for a You Tube video.

Putting the cover on the carbs was a bad idea. Thought I had it clean enough. Had to clean the carb ports out. This was the second run because the first had the bogg down when accelerating. I adjusted the accelerator pumps just slightly and that did it.

Very good Albutwet!! The motor starts right up and sounds good. What else do you have to do before you can take it out?

Looking forward to the splash video!!

Re: 1978 Bayliner Quartermaster restoration

Thanks Glenn.
Well I want to replace the fuel inlet hose and vent hose. I need to mount the bilge pump and install the fuel float and pick up tube. Hook up the fuel filter. Hook up the bonding wires for the fuel tank. Install the registration numbers. I also need to decide whether or not to try and use my old bilge vents or try and make some new custom ones. This boat does not have a standard vent. It is a long skinny one, and I have not seen them anywhere. I thought about molding them but the cost of materials kinda out ways that option.
I stopped at the DMV to see what it was going to cost to register the boat and trailer today. Under $100. So I'm thinking two to maybe four weeks till launch. Oh and I have to refurbuish the flame arrestor box. I shouldn't have put it on. I had to clean the jets out on the carbs; because after cleaning it up. It still had some fine particals of rust in it.
And then a few little things. Plus I'm already going over the accessories in my mind for B-day and Fathers day ect.. Lol :D

Awesome! That engine's running pretty good. Obviously a carefully done rebuild.

Ok we have had several outings this summer. And even some hiccups.

This was the end of a day spent on Yale Reservoir with my youngest daughter.
We found on our third trip out that the fuel tank was leaking. So I had to cut my deck out and pull the tank. I cut 13" out of the back end which had several pin holes. We would fix them and then find more. So I cut it back and recapped it.
