I try to not get too specific when its not needed, adding details like bagging a laminate to seal the surface makes it sound important and complicated, which only creates more doubt in the owners ability to do a simple DIY job.
I stick with the basics, use the correct amount of catalyst, mix well, grind the surface well before glassing... things like that. If later they need more info on a specific method or process, then it can be supplied at that time.
I'm sure that ondarvr is very knowledgeable. However, I'm not a fan of broad generic advice.
