seat pedestal

I've got the stringers back in my '71 starcraft and am about to start with the new deck...i want to put removable pedistal type seats with a semi flat base so i can remove them when i'm using the boat for duck hunting...im not sure what diameter to use though...is a 3/4 inch pin post suitable, or are these geared more towards a fishing seat (not for while underway)?
would i be better off with something bigger?

3/4 pin is the norm. besure to put a 3/4 piece of ply for backing under the deck for reinforcement. works much better.
