On another note and it may have been mentioned most mfg's make mixes for summer, winter and fall. Lets
working with it based on season a lot easier. I switch in winter/summer.

I messaged buddy from were I'm getting my resin from and he said I can bump my catalyst down to 1 percent for a little more working time. So when i do the plywood i may do that depending on the days weather.

Well after a bunch of reading today I put in some 3/4 inch limber holes in my cross members and coated them 4 times with resin. Thanks for the heads up tpenfield.

Got the foam all cut up today and in place. Poor filleting knife took a beating but did a good job of cutting it up. Gonna pick up some plywood tomorrow after work.

If you do decide to have a series of weep holes (aka limber holes) you could just run them close to the keel into the mini bilge at the transom. no need to do a stand-up pipe or anything like that. Make sure the holes are sealed with resin/glass . . . or something.

For longevity, I would recommend coating the bottom side of the deck plywood with a layer of glass/resin so it won't adsorb water from the underside.

Hey question again but should I put my cap on before my floor goes in? Not that anything has moved all my measurements are within a 1/4 inch from starboard to port and my bow to stern measurements are bang on but if I put a wieght on the sides downwards the spot were the floor will touch the hull moves a little. Nothing major but it does move. It will make it tougher to tab in the transom and pour my flotation boxes. Thanks

Well after a busy week and probably another one coming to me again I got to work on the boat again. Managed to get the back piece installed and the front cut up. Also got my transom supports cut up and installed. Also my back tie downs are in and glued into place. Test fitted the cap aswell and i got a far bit of grinding I'm gonna do at the end of the day.

I sure did. I ate up so much resin coating the bottom of the plywood twice and one layer of CSM. But hey the floor is in yay. Thinking of doing the top side with 1708. I think I have enough of it and will be easier to work with. This new batch of csm is kinda a pain in the butt. Likes to ball up on my fiberglass roller.

Grinded down the cap tonight where the transom meets up. Man there was alot of filler mesh and epoxy there. Fingers crossed that it fits now. Got to pick up another gallon of resin tomorrow for hopefully the rest of the project. My foam wont be in till friday and I dont think I can pour it in with the cap on which is a kicker.

I took out my 5th bunk I put in under the boat on the keel. It's a 4 inch wide by 10 foot steel c chanel. And then a end of the day picture. Old school exit light reflecting on the boat.

Yeah it has only took two and a half months of hard work but it's coming along. I'm not heading to the lake for a couple of weeks yet so it maybe just ready by then. I'm just going to use the back to back seats for now and make sure what I've done is good to go then play with the interior.

Question though any tips on getting the rub rail rubber back in? I'm thinking dish soap and heat gun. That's what I use on old window rubbers on cars and does alright.

Well after many a staples were pulled out of the worse materials that could of been used to make the side panel pieces and hours of scrubbing the interior is all cleaned and ready to be rebuilt. The plywood on the seats are a little musty smelling but sprayed it down with some stuff and I'll see how it is. Worse case scenario I got a winter project now.

Been following along - nice work! Ya I'd say heat and something like soap is the ticket for the rub strip.

Have had few busy days here and hosted my buddies stag party so that wrote off a couple more days. Lol haven't drank like that in a while.

Got the Fuel lines changed and the motor on. Lines all hooked up and wires all ran. Another good feeling I'm that much more closer to getting it on the water before the snow flies.

Also came across a deal that I couldn't pass up. The control board is buggered up but for 40 bucks can't lose. Not to sure on whether ill mount it or fix and sell it. There's not to many closed bow mounted trolling motors setups out there.

Got the rub rail in last night and would have to say it went pretty well. I had more of a problem with the boat moving around then I did getting it into its home. Dish soap and water in a windex bottle and 3 inch plastic drywall knife were the key tools. Mine is one piece and I put the center screw in then stretched it around to the back on both sides and put those screws in so I was half way there. Then sprayed it down and worked it like putting a old school window rubber in going 6 or so inches then pulling it back to not over stretch it and hour later I was done.

Wow it's been a while. Works been crazy budies wedding is done, was alot of work for such a small group of people but it was fun and needed a few days to recover from it lol.

On to the boat. So my kids have been in and out of it constantly and then we had a small accident but a good one I guess you could say. Brother made sister mad and she threw a soccer ball at him(I think it was a kick at him) but they felt bad.

Crack in the gelcoat on the side. But after investigating on the inside it looks like when they cut the top of the foam on the sides they got careless and cut up the wooven darn near to the outside gelcoat. So I got it all cleaned up and going to put a layer or 2 all along the side. There pretty deep so glad I found it now then later down the road or have the hole side crack.

Busy week on the boat. Got the floor just about covered in 1708. I made the mistake the first night and put down the front piece early into the night and couldn't work in the garage after cause of the fumes. So the next night I did the lower pieces of interior first then did the second piece of floor at the end of the night.

Bought a second v1 minn kota trolling motor with two pedals this and got it working but only on full power. Which is ok cause I only plan on using the pedal to steer and going to get a pwm controller for the speed control. So I had to mount it now. That took three days all in its own. Not the easiest thing to figure out on a closed bow boat to make it look right work right. But after many configurations and sleeping on it and losing sleep on it this is how I did it.

I dont know who's idea it was to add a trolling motor to a closed bow but what a painful process. Crawling inside that little cubby up front multiple times. Not fun. But its on and solid as a rock. So I'm happy.

I can't find orange out door or marine carpet for the life of me so not to sure I'm going to do there. Don't really want to go with gray so hopefully there's a nice color of carpet that will match the rest of the interior or do you think common dark gray would be OK. There's a vinyl that matches pretty good but I find it slippery. I dunno. Nother thing to lose sleep on lol
