Substitute for paneling

Wife and I just bought a ‘77 Harbor Master houseboat. Lots to do inside and out. For those of you who may have remodeled yourself or had a houseboat remodeled by a professional what did you use in place of paneling for the walls? For now we can paint it but need ideas on something to put up instead of paneling.

Our ‘77 Harbor Master houseboat has wood grain paneling on its walls as I’m sure so many others built then probably did too. When we finally get to tearing out the old paneling what is the wall material of choice these days? The wife doesn’t like the tongue and groove knotty pine look so that’s out. What else do others use?
