I bought 2 different kinds of Loctite PL today to possibly work as a sealant/glue if needed.

I was surprised they had the Marine type at Home Depot:

They also had the regular Premium kind:

I bought them both - can take one back if I need to...

Am I spending 3x as much on the Marine one for nothing though?

Thanks!

The regular one is for bonding things like wood to wood. The marine is more of a sealant adhesive. I would use that for things submerged and the other for making stringers

Coolio - I'll take the marine one back then - thanks!

It will be used to bond stringers if necessary - and the edge of the decking to the hull if necessary, around the edges.

The marine is water proof. The regular is water resistant....big difference.

I personally would not use anything water resistant on a boat.

I recommend taking both back and NOT using PL at all. Peanut Butter (Thickened Resin) is cheaper and better for all boat work. But...I AM just and Dumb Old Okie!!!!:D
