Hi, New to this site. I have a 1969 Shell Lake Lund Tri 14' Sportsman. The floor seems great but I want to remove it to install 2 pedestal seats and get the benches out of there. Has anyone removed a floor out of one of these older Shell Lake Tri hulls? My brother and I are very good at taking on these type of projects, so it doesn't fear us to do this. Is there stringers in the floor? foam for flotation? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Welcome! not sure without seeing pics but a ton of those, the benches are support for sides so be careful of that .

Yeah,...A friend of mine tried that,..

Without the benches the sides don't have much support,..He put the benches back,..

I spent many days fishing with him out of that boat, He died 10 years ago
I miss him and the boat!!

At the end of the day you have a very stable 14 fishing boat, However it's
never gonna be a "bass boat" with all the amenities and comforts,..

I'd just enjoy it for the great fishing platform it is and go make memories
